We, the Shaffer Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization, are dedicated first, to the better education of our students. Second, the Organization will be a communication tool between administrators, teachers, and parents as to what the needs are at Shaffer and how they can be addressed. Third, we are committed to raising and using the funds necessary in support of the on-going activities, events, programs, and curriculum for the school. Finally, we are united in these goals and will work together to improve the quality of our school.
The PTO has MONTHLY MEETINGS on the 2nd Tuesday of each month starting @ 4:00 pm in the Staff Lounge. This is an OPEN, PUBLIC meeting and EVERYONE is invited to see what fun we have planned for the upcoming year and see how easy it is help out while being a part of your student’s education. With the school facing budget cuts, the PTO’s role at Shaffer becomes more and more vital with each financial hurdle the school faces. The PTO has been able to support Shaffer in a number of ways including: *funding Field Trips *purchasing playground equipment and school supplies *covering fees for sporting/academic events & uniforms *recognizing positive behavior in students with SHAFFER P.R.I.D.E. program *support Greenhouse renovation/curriculum Being a part of the PTO is fun and rewarding on many levels. With your help, the PTO will be able to continue with its goals of providing enriching activities and a variety of educational experiences as well as needed playground equipment or classroom supplies.
